Kent Coastal Week 2012 'Historic Coast'
Forgotten Frontline Cartoon Workshop
As part of Kent Coastal Week on Saturday 27th October 2012, Mark Harrison (Timescapes) and Dave Chisholm held a cartoon workshop incorporating the Forgotten Frontline exhbition and work from Mapping Kent at Whitstable Castle.
As part of the ‘Forgotten Frontline’ Project there was also an unveiling a fantastic reconstruction of how Tankerton prepared for invasion in 1940. The reconstruction, drawn by artist Dave Chisholm, draws upon the work undertaken as part of the ‘Forgotten Frontline Project’ including:
- Aerial imagery by Mapping Kent
- Oral histories of residents and service personnel
- Photographs and documentation held by local families, including a map of the area drawn by Town Surveyor Eric Uden
